This article discusses the pathogenesis of pain in acute and chronic spinal pain syndrome, and the factors promoting the progress of spinal pain to chronic status. The use of tolperisone is discussed. Experiments involving 5130 patients have shown very high effectiveness. Decreased symptoms were observed in 73% of the patients, with a very low percentage of undesirable side effects (less than 1%).
