DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG1A6z2j

Abstract
Introduction. As a result of subjective functional assessment, disturbances in the symmetry of body weight distribution on the support plane are commonly observed in children and adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between the direction of the primary curvature and the body weight distribution on the ground in children with idiopathic scoliosis.
Method. Two groups (the study group and the control group) of children aged 7–11 were included in the study. The study group consisted of 96 children rehabilitated due to scoliosis in rehabilitation centres. The control group included children of the corresponding age, height and weight in comparison to the study group. The main element of the study involved measurements of the percentage body weight distribution on the support plane between the “convex” and “concave” side of the body while maintaining a standing position on both legs.
Results. Based on the value of the symmetry index and the direction of the primary curvature, the following subgroups were distinguished among the children with scoliosis: children with symmetrical body weight distribution on the support plane (21%); children with asymmetric body weight distribution on the support plane overloading the convex side (51%) and children overloading the concave side (28%).
Conclusion. The occurrence of symmetry disorders in the body weight distribution on the support plane in children with idiopathic scoliosis requires taking these features into account in the early stage of rehabilitation of these children.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG1A6Np0

Abstract
Objective. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of lumbar repositioning feedback training (LRFT) on pain and joint position sense (JPS) in patients with chronic mechanical low back pain (CMLBP). Materials and Methods. Twenty-four patients, from both genders, suffering from CMLBP were assigned randomly into 2 equal groups. The lumbar repositioning feedback training (LRFT) group who received lumbar repositioning feedback training and conventional proprioception exercises on Swiss ball, and control group who received conventional proprioception exercises on Swiss ball only. Pain was assessed using visual analogue scale (VAS), and joint position sense was assessed using absolute repositioning error (ARE). All patients received treatment twice per week for 6 weeks. Assessments were carried out pre and post experimentally. Results. Pre- post treatment evaluations comparisons showed improvement of pain and joint position sense post- treatment compared to pre-treatment within both groups. However, pre-treatment between groups comparisons were non-significant, with significant post- treatment improvements of pain and joint position sense in favor of LRFT compared to control group. Conclusion. Patients in LRFT group showed significant pain reduction and improvement in joint position sense in patients with CMLBP than did patients in control group. Thus, LRFT might be a suggested component of treatment programs in managing patients with CMLBP.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG1A6XT7

Abstract
Purpose. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of two types of therapeutic exercise: core stability exercises and movement control exercises in pain and function.
Methods. Thirty-five patients were diagnosed and referred to physiotherapy as CMLBP, their age ranged from 25–40 years old, patients divided randomly into two groups and assessed for their current level of pain using a visual analog scale (VAS) and for disability using Oswestry disability index (ODI) before and after the study. Both groups received a well-documented fully supervised exercise program as group I movement control exercise, and group II received core stability exercises. Results. Showed significant effect of both exercise approaches on reducing pain level and restoring function. Although the group I exercises showed to be more effective in reducing pain than group II, their difference regarding improving function was non-significant. Conclusion. Conservative forms of treatment (therapeutic exercises) still prove it is a successful, cost-effective treatment of choice in patients with chronic mechanical low back pain. Movement control exercises are superior in reducing pain to core stability exercises.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG1A6Sbq

Abstract
Every year, canceris diagnosed in an increasing number of patients. Any diagnosis that confirms cancer causes enormous stress and trauma to the patient. Poor mental state may result in a lack of willingness to cooperate with a physiotherapist, and, as a result, hinder the overall treatment process. Physiotherapists should pay special attention to the principles of ethics in the profession and the possibilities of psychological support of patients during therapy. Reducing stress in patients and gaining their trust might help them recover faster.
