Abstract
Mastery of forehand and backhand drive skills is crucial for the foundational development of table tennis athletes. This study aims to introduce an engaging training methodology for children aged 10-12 to enhance their table tennis abilities. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through the Delphi technique and repeated measures. Participants included three academic experts, four professional table tennis coaches, and nine young table tennis players. The research employed a questionnaire featuring a rating scale from one to four (very relevant, relevant, somewhat relevant, not relevant) for content validity and a one to three scale for assessing the practicality of the instruments. Data analysis was conducted using Aiken’s formula.
Results. The innovation in training methodology using the circuit approach to enhance beginner-level forehand and backhand drives in table tennis demonstrated significant effectiveness. The first aspect, alignment of the training concept with objectives, received a validation score of V = 0.952. Similarly, the training movements’ relevance to objectives and the modifications introduced both scored V = 0.952. The suitability of the training procedures received a slightly lower score of V = 0.857. A practicality assessment of all components yielded scores exceeding 80%.
Conclusion. The circuit training methodology designed for children aged 10-12 significantly improves forehand and backhand drive skills, demonstrating high content validity and practicality. Consequently, this study’s findings endorse the circuit training approach as an effective means to enhance table tennis skills among young athletes.

Abstract
Academic Procrastination is an alarming phenomenon in education sector nowadays. It would be a big obstacle in the learning process especially for high school students.  The aim of this research is to understand the influence and relationship between the interest of doing physical exercises and psychological well-being to procrastination. The population of this research were 355 students of XI grade of SMAN 1 Muntilan.Using purposive sampling, 101 students were obtained as the sample. Data analysis technique using product moment correlation and linear regression with the interest in doing physical exercises (X1) and psychological well-being (X2) as independent variables, and procrastination (Y) as the dependent variable. The results show that almost all of students (80%) have a trend to do academic procrastination. This is shown  by 67.3% of students having moderate procrastination and 16.8% of students having high procrastination behavior. There is a negative correlation between the interest in doing physical exercises and psychological well-being with procrastination, where the correlation coefficients are −0.554 and −0.164, respectively. A negative correlation can be interpreted if an increase in one variable is associated with a decrease in another variable in this context, namely when the physical exercise and psychological well-being variables increase, there is a decrease in students’ tendency to engage in procrastination behavior. Meanwhile in regression analysis with 5% significant level shows only interest of doing physical exercises that significant influencing procrastination with p-value = 0.000.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF8A1B

Abstract
Background. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a major health issue that can impede postpartum women’s activities and skills in both their personal and professional lives. Purpose. To compare the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and pulsed ultrasound (US) in relieving postpartum CTS. Methods. Forty-eight women with mild to moderate CTS were divided into three groups. In addition to wrist exercises, Group (A) (n = 16) received LLLT, Group (B) (n = 16) received pulsed US, and Group (C) (n = 16) performed wrist exercises alone. For all groups, the treatment sessions were applied to the affected hand, 3 sessions weekly for four weeks. All postpartum women were evaluated pre- and post-treatment via a visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain intensity, the Boston Questionnaire of CTS (BCTS) for diagnosing CTS symptoms, electromyography for measuring motor conduction velocity (MCV), sensory conduction velocity (SCV), motor distal latency (MDL), and sensory peak latency (SPL), and a hand grip dynamometer for assessing hand grip strength. Results. All measured variables were significantly improved in the three groups post-treatment compared to pre-treatment. Between-groups comparison showed a highly significant decrease in the VAS, BCTS, and SPL and a significant increase of SCV and hand grip strength between groups A and C in favor of group A and between groups B and C in favor of group B, while the significant change in MDL and MCV was found between groups A and C only in favor of group A (p < 0.05), with no significant change in all outcome measures between groups A and B (P > 0.05). Conclusion. Either LLLT or pulsed US are useful modalities that can be used as an effective conservative therapy for alleviating postpartum CTS.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF8Sbq

Abstract
Traditional sports games have become an important part of the cultural heritage we inherited from our ancestors. However, with the development of technology and changes in modern lifestyles, traditional sports games have seen a decline in popularity among children. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the role of traditional sports games in increasing children’s endurance in an innovative way.  This research uses a qualitative descriptive research model that is a literature study that uses various literature reviews in strengthening research analysis. This research began by collecting some literature, then conducted a review and the collected literature was analyzed with a critical Apprasial table of 10 literature. The results showed that traditional sports games were able to provide significant benefits for children’s endurance. Through these games, children develop motor skills, body coordination, and balance. They also learn to cope with challenges, develop social skills, such as cooperation and communication, and gain a sense of pride in their cultural heritage.  In addition, the introduction of traditional sports games adapted to innovative elements, such as the use of technology or the setting of new rules, can increase children’s interest in participating. This allows them to maintain a connection to the traditions of the past while experiencing the joys and challenges presented in a more contemporary context.  This research provides recommendations for educators and parents to promote traditional sports games as an integral part of children’s educational and activity curricula. Thus, children can develop innovative resilience through activities that honor their ancestral heritage.

Kamil Lenczewski, Małgorzata Wójcik – Functional connections between the temporomandibular joint and the hip joint –  Fizjoterapia Polska 2024; 24(1); 122-125

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF8R1m

Abstract
Introduction. Some of the factors in the formation of temporomandibular joint disorders are changes in the central and peripheral nervous systems. In the context of creating connections between two joints, fascia and the concept of biotensegration are important. The tension created in the tissue is linearly distributed along the entire body. The creation of excessive tension within one structure can lead to the creation of identical tension in a distant structure.
Aim of the study. The research hypothesis was that soft tissue manual treatments of the temporomandibular joint, with a duration of 7 minutes per side would affect increased mobility in the hip joint for the motion of the abduction.
Results. The obtained value for the right and left hip joint shows a strong and positive correlation. This proves that the therapy performed had an effect on increasing the range of motion.
Conclusions. Myofascial release of the tissues of the temporomandibular joint had a positive effect on the increase in the range of motion for hip abduction.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF80LR

Abstract
Background. The increasing prevalence of stroke, particularly among younger populations in countries like India, necessitates effective preventive strategies. Modifiable risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, and smoking contribute significantly to stroke incidence. This study focuses on the implementation of a 12-week moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) program to address these risk factors and reduce stroke incidence.
Methodology. The study involved a structured MVPA intervention among individuals at risk of stroke, emphasizing consistent adherence to the protocol. Key outcomes, including systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and total cholesterol levels, were monitored. Cardiovascular fitness improvements were assessed using the Cooper’s Run Test. The study also examined the feasibility and acceptability of the MVPA intervention through participant adherence rates.
Results. The MVPA group exhibited significant reductions in systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and total cholesterol levels compared to the control group. These findings underscore the efficacy of MVPA in managing major stroke risk factors. Additionally, participants demonstrated enhanced cardiovascular endurance, highlighting the program’s positive impact on overall cardiovascular health. High adherence rates in the MVPA group indicated the feasibility of implementing structured exercise protocols for individuals at risk of stroke.
Conclusion. This pilot study demonstrates the effectiveness of a 12-week MVPA program in reducing key stroke risk factors and improving cardiovascular fitness among individuals at risk of stroke. The findings emphasize the importance of structured exercise interventions in stroke prevention efforts. While promising, further research with larger sample sizes and longer durations is necessary to establish the sustained benefits and feasibility of such interventions. Implementing tailored MVPA programs holds significant potential for mitigating stroke risk, offering valuable insights for global stroke prevention strategies.
