Abstract
Objective. The main objective of the study is to assess the knowledge of parents/guardians about body posture defects in children at early school age. During the study, additional objectives were set regarding the determination of the level of parents’ knowledge in selected topics. These topics concerned the type of body posture defects in children, factors influencing their formation, as well as determining the knowledge of parents in the use of preventive measures.
Material and methods. The study group consisted of 300 parents of children at early school age. The study was conducted on the basis of an original, anonymous questionnaire consisting of 24 questions. Respondents provided answers to questions concerning, among others, the source of obtaining information on posture defects, knowledge of individual posture defects and methods of prevention.
Results. The study showed that people living in larger towns/cities and having higher education have a wider range of knowledge in the field of body posture defects. In addition, respondents with higher education know and use posture defect prevention methods much more often than people with lower education. According to the respondents, wearing a backpack on one shoulder is one of the most common causes of posture defects. Parents who do not know whether their child has a posture defect relatively rarely use preventive methods.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG209371

Abstract
Plano-valgus foot is a common three-plane deformity that appears at developmental age. It is characterized by the eversion of the calcaneus in relation to the tibia, foot pronation and lowering of the medial longitudinal arch under load. Joint hypermobility and significant body weight are believed to increase the prevalence of plano-valgus foot at all ages. There is no consensus on the proper management of flat feet. This disagreement is primarily due to the fact that there is no clear-cut approach to distinguishing pathological or physiological flat feet and to determining who needs treatment. One of the methods of supporting foot correction is the use of orthopaedic equipment in the form of shoe insoles or SMO/RING orthoses. The introduction of repositioning in the lower ankle joint is intended to restore the natural foot support system and to reduce the compensation at higher levels in the joints of the lower limbs, in the pelvis and torso.

Mirosław Janiszewski, Anna Kluszczyńska, Ireneusz Pieszyński – The impact of musical performance on the occurence of selected disorders of body posture in children from a music school. Fizjoterapia Polska 2002; 2(1); 46-56

Abstract
Background. The aim of our study was to investigate the effects of long-term musical training on the genesis of defective posture. Material and methods. The study involved a group of 92 children who were tested twice, once in 1992 again in 1998, used a specially developed screening test. Results. A greater rate of occurrence of posture defects, including especially scoliosis, was found in children who were heavily involved in playing musical instruments. This type played was found to correlate with type and frequency of particular posture defects. Conclusion. Systematic long term of musical instruments may cause more frequent in posturogenesis and a higher rate of scoliosis.

Abstract
The main subject of the thesis is the statistical analysis of frequency of detects in human posture and sided curvatures of the spine among children of 12 attending to 6th from in Elementary Schools in Rzeszów. To specify the frequency of defects in human posture and sided curvatures of the spine we used research poll. Our examination includes: age, sex, height, weight, inconsistency in the lower legs, position of the shoulders, position of the waist, curves in the thorax, curves in the lower back, presence or absence of compensation, evident presence of hunched back. The researches has been carring out on population of 933 children of 12, which is the 40,5% of all children of 12 in Rzeszów. We examined 423 girls and 510 boys. The defects in human posture was detected in 188 girls bodies, which is 44,4% all being examined. While at boys it was detected in 194 bodies, which is 38% all being examined. Of the research carried out in Poland over the 30% of children and adolescents have serious problems concerning back movements. Having put an the interpretation on results allow us to make a statement that the problem of in correct axis of skeleton occurs. Among population of 382 children of 12 in Rzeszów which is 41% all being examined.

Abstract
Background. The aim of the study was to assess sensomotoric development disorders, subsequent defect location, and to show whether the disorders are associated with the presence or lack of postural defects. Material and methods. A hundred 10 years old children (50 girls ald 50 boys) from four primary schools in the Lublin Province participated in the study. There were two groups: the study group comprising 50 children with posture defects (25 girls and 25 boys) and the control group, comprising 50 children without posture defects (25 girls and 25 boys). The occurrence of posture defects was assessed by Kasperczyk grading, which consisted in visual evaluation of particular body parts. Assessment of sensomotoric development was performed with Child Sensomotoric Questionnaire (by Zbigniew Przyrowski). Results. On the basis of our investigation we conclude that out of 8 sensomotoric development systems the auditory system is most frequently impaired in children (such impairment was found in 48,0% of children with posture defects and 12,0% of children without posture defects). Conclusions. There is a strict connection between incorrectly functioning hearing system and posture defects in children, which shows the absolute Q coefficient value.

Abstract

Purpose. Body posture constitutes integral whole, so the formation of the temporomandibular joints should hypothetically correspond to the remaining parts of motor organ. On account of this assumption, an attempt was made to assess the body posture in groups according to presence of malocclusion.
Material and methods. 336 children were examined including 173 girls and 163 boys aged 8-14. All the subjects underwent assessment of the body posture with use of Kasperczyk’s point classification and assessment of the occlusion according to scale drawn up by Emmerich-Popłatek.
Results. There was significant diversification (p<0.01) of mean value of body posture assessment between groups – with and without malocclusions. All parts assessed with use of Kasperczyk’s point classification were analyzed and tested if there was a connection with the quality of occlusion. A statistically significant connection of malocclusion was found with shoulders set asymmetrically and protractionally (p=0.03) and the shoulder blades standing out from the back surface (p=0.03).
Conclusions. Quality of body posture of children with malocclusions is significantly worse comparing to children without malocclusion. In the compared groups there was significant diversity of shoulders and shoulder blades setting.
