Abstract

The term realloplasty corresponds with surgical procedure of prosthesis refixing, removing and then reimplantation of a new prosthesis. One should distinguish between revision of joint after alloplasty and the realloplasty. Revision and realloplasty complement one another. Revision could be connected with removal of prosthesis or its part and implantation of a new prosthesis. The problems at revision after a knee joint alloplasty and realloplasty, have been discussed on the basis of our observations and medical literature review. The purpose of this publications, is to show failures complications for realloplasty. It was turned out that the most serious problem for the stability of prosthesis components is bone cement. That is why uncemented implants are recommented for application and researches on bioactivs composits, which influence the stability of prosthesis. In the new situation after revision and realloplasty, specialistic rehabilitation is indispensable taking into consideration all past complications and failures which have influence on rehabilitation program and its continuation.
