Abstract
Background. Tibial eminence fracture is an injury referred to the interarticular portion of the neighbouring plateau of the tibia. Non-operative treatment is recommended for type I and II. The study aimed to investigate the effect of virtual reality (VR) training combined with a physical therapy program (PTP) in the management of children after tibial eminence fractures. Methods. Forty eight children suffering from tibial eminence fracture (type I and type II). Their age ranged from 7 to 14 years old. The control group (G1) received only a physiotherapy program (PTP) and the experimental group (G2) received the same PTP plus virtual reality (VR) in form of Wii Sport Training. Both groups received the treatment protocol for six successive months (3 sessions per week). Participants were assessed before and after the treatment for six successive months. The outcomes were range of motion (ROM) of knee joint using goniometry, knee pain using the visual analogue scale (VAS) and balance by Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS). Results. Post-treatment, there was a a statistically substantial difference in pain, PBS, knee flexion and extension ROM in both groups (P-value < 0.05). Also, there was a statistically substantial difference in PBS and knee flexion ROM between the two groups (P-value < 0.05), favouring the VR group. Conclusions. These findings from this study reveal the value of physical therapy combined with VR in the rehabilitation of children with tibial eminence fractures. Virtual reality used in conjunction with PTP enhances those children’s knee range of motion and body stability.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF8753

Abstract
Children with cerebral palsy tend to be less physically fit compared to typically developing peers. This is mainly due to the lack of physical activity and exercise during their childhood. If adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy don’t get enough exercise, it could result in reduced mobility and physical fitness. It is very important to start treatment for cerebral palsy when the child is young. The goal of this research was to investigate how children with spastic cerebral palsy might benefit from enhancing their hand muscle functioning by squeezing a sponge tennis ball during hand-strengthening exercises. The study implemented a true experimental design with a pre-and post-test control group. This methodology allowed for a rigorous and systematic investigation, ensuring reliable and valid results. Twelve boys between the ages of 15 and 17 who were all diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy participated in sponge tennis ball gripping exercises as part of a program of intervention. A 30-minute workout of sponge tennis ball squeezing involves 4-6 sets of 15-20 repetitions with passive rests of 30 seconds. The prescribed regimen involves conducting the exercise four times per week for six weeks. Before and after the intervention, the Hand Grip Dynamometer was used to assess the hand muscle strength of children with spastic-type cerebral palsy. Data analysis techniques were applied using the independent samples t-test with a significant level of 5%. The results showed the average muscle strength of the right hand after the intervention between control vs. experiment (4.36 ± 1.35 kg vs. 34.16 ± 3.34 kg (p = 0.000)), the average muscle strength of the left hand after the intervention between control vs. experiment (2.31 ± 0.49 kg vs. 30.18 ± 2.08 kg (p = 0.000)). The findings of the research suggest that engaging in frequent tennis ball gripping exercises, conducted on a frequency of four sessions per week over a duration of six weeks, may yield notable improvements in the hand muscle functionality of children diagnosed with spastic-type cerebral palsy. The findings suggest that including these activities in treatment, procedures may provide significant value for persons with this particular illness.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG20B0Yj

Abstract
Aim of the study. The aim of the study was to assess the range of motion of the upper limb among right and left-handed table tennis players aged 7-10 years and to analyze the influence of the playing hand on the range of motion.
Material and methods. the study covered 103 table tennis players who had a license in Silesian sports clubs for at least a year – 32 girls and 71 boys aged 7-10. One of the inclusion criteria for the study was participation in at least three training sessions per week. Among children, the range of motion of the upper limb was measured using the inertial GYKO device. Collected results were subjected to statistical analysis using a nonparametric U Mann Whitney test.
Results. Right-handed children playing table tennis showed a significantly greater range of motion of the right upper limb both during flexion and abduction movements. In turn, among left-handed children, the range of motion during both movements was significantly greater in the left upper limb.
Conclusions. Among the athletes, a relationship between the playing hand and the range of motion of the right and left upper limb both during flexion and abduction movements was found (p < 0.05). The participants had a significantly greater range of motion of the upper limb with which they played table tennis. Research has shown that among young table tennis players from the Silesian Voivodeship, therapeutic procedures are necessary to increase the range of motion of the non-playing hand.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG0178mY

Abstract
Aim of work. The aim of this work was to assess body postures of primary school pupils and to assess the influence of static splayfoot on bad posture within lower limbs and spine.
Material and Methods. Research sample included 306 grade four pupils attending primary schools in Kluczbork municipal district. The research test were conducted at the turn of 2017 and 2018. The results gathered in the test were subjected to statistical analysis to determine correlations between particular body posture deformities. Correlation analysis was used to determine correlations between the assessed variables.
Results. The analysis of posture fault occurrence in the research population showed variables of statistical significance for spine curvatures, flat foot and cross knees. Additionally, knee joints flexion contracture was reported in one child.
Conclusions.
1. Bad body posture within lower limbs and spine are common among grade four pupils.
2. There is a strong correlation between splayfoot and deformities within knees and spine.
