Abstract:
Introduction. Neck pain is a common musculoskeletal problem. This individual and socio-economic health problem is associated with a reduction in daily activities, a reduction in labour productivity and an impact on quality of life levels.
Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy of non-specific pain originating from the cervical region in terms of the applied physiotherapy methods.
Methods. 40 research articles published in 2018-2023 in journals with registration in databases Web of Science, Science Direct and Scopus were included in the research.
Results. The most frequent target studied was the education of patients on ergonomics, correct posture and home exercises. The preparation phase of therapy included the administration of thermotherapy and electrotherapy – ultrasound or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), classical massage, administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The techniques often used were manipulation and/or mobilization, trigger and tender points therapy – acupressure, acupuncture, dry needle application. Among the therapeutic methods, the most frequently chosen are exercises in the form of pilates, yoga, Alexander technique, sensomotor training, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, Jakobson progressive muscle relaxation. Reduction of painful mobility was addressed by the application of local immobilization and kineziotaping.
Conclusion. According to the results of our analysis, the combination of several physiotherapy techniques and methods appears to be significantly effective for reducing pain and improving quality of life.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG20BNp0

Abstract
Systematic evaluation of the evidence for the use of craniosacral therapy (CST) in practice. The following English-only electronic databases were searched: PubMed, Scopus, PEDro, Cochrane Library. The review of journal databases was conducted between March and June 2023. The databases were searched using MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms, keywords and logical operators. The results from the statistical analyses performed were taken into account. Only twenty-five studies met the inclusion criteria. Positive clinical results were reported for reduction of pain, reduction of crying in children, reduction of stress hormones, and improvement of patients’ general well-being. The methodological quality of the PEDro scale ranged from 1 to 11 points. The review indicates a significant effect on patient outcomes/symptoms. There is a need for multi-center studies with common CST methodology in groups with large numbers.

– Assessment of the effectiveness of therapy using TENS and interferential currents in patients with low back pain. Fizjoterapia Polska 2019; 19(1); 22-29

Abstract
Admission. Lower back pain is one of the most common problems associated with locomotor disorders. They are a serious medical problem, but also due to the prevalence of social and economic problems. Treatment of pain in the lower spine is a comprehensive treatment, includes kinesitherapy, physiotherapy and aims to reduce pain, inflammation and increased muscle tone.
Material and methods. The study involved a group of 60 people with pain in the lower spine. The subjects were divided into two equally 30-person groups. In both groups, physical treatments were used laser therapy and magnetotherapy. In addition, TENS was performed in the first group, while in the second group, interference currents were used. The study used a questionnaire, pain assessment on the VAS scale and the Schober test.
Objective. The aim of the study was to compare the effect of TENS currents and interference currents in terms of reducing pain and increasing the range of motion of the lower spine.
Results. The applied physical treatment had a positive effect on the patients’ condition. Statistical tests have shown a reduction in pain in patients and an improvement in the range of motion in the spine.
Conclusions. TENS currents are a more effective method in the treatment of lower back pain. The results of the research showed that the use of TENS currents allowed to obtain positive effects in the form of increasing the range of spinal mobility, all subjects in this group experienced a reduction in pain.
