Abstract
The Independent Curriculum positions character development as the core of learning aimed at fostering students’ holistic growth. Nevertheless, physical education instruction in elementary schools continues to focus predominantly on motor skills and physical fitness, with limited emphasis on systematically embedding character values within learning models. This situation highlights the need for a physical education learning model that can meaningfully and structurally internalize character values through planned physical activities. This research seeks to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a character-based physical education learning model aligned with the Independent Curriculum for elementary school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design adapted from the Borg and Gall framework, encompassing the stages of needs assessment, model development, expert review, small-scale trials, field implementation, and effectiveness evaluation. A total of 50 elementary school students participated and were assigned to experimental and control groups. Research instruments included expert validation forms, character evaluation questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. Data were analysed using a pretest–post-test design with paired-sample t-tests and independent-sample t-tests. Expert judgement indicated that the developed model achieved a feasibility score of 91.3%, categorised as very good. Effectiveness testing demonstrated significant gains in both character development and learning outcomes among students in the experimental group compared with those in the control group (p < 0.05). The character-based physical education learning model is both feasible and effective in enhancing students’ character formation and learning competencies, supporting the objectives of the Independent Curriculum at the elementary school level.

Nurhidayat Nurhidayat, Gatot Jariono, Andri Arif Kustiawan – The effectiveness of target practice on the accuracy of shooting petanque 7 metres distance –  Fizjoterapia Polska 2024; 24(3); 384-387

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG020AB6Q

Abstract:
This research is motivated by the inability to maximize the shooting performance of petanque athletes from the One Eleven Junior Cilacap team, due to a lack of proper training models. The study aims to determine the effect of target practice on the shooting ability of petanque athletes. The training aims to familiarize athletes with accurately throwing boules towards other boules. The research used an experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design. Test instruments included shooting stations numbered 1 to 5 and distances of 6, 7, 8, and 9 meters. The sample consisted of 15 petanque athletes from the One Eleven Junior team in Cilacap Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Results of the t-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of target practice on the athletes’ shooting ability. The average pre-test score was 2.00, while the post-test score was 8.20, showing an improvement of 6.20.
Conclusion: The target shooting training model significantly improves the shooting accuracy of One Eleven Junior petanque athletes in Cilacap Regency.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG20B6B8

Abstract
The study purpose of this study aims to determine the influence of traditional sports therapy on improving the motor skills of children with special needs. The population of this study is all students of special needs school Sukoharjo and Karanganyar Central Java Province, Indonesia, while the sample of this study is SLBN Sukoharjo and Karanganyar students of as many as 30 people. Research sampling techniques use purposive sampling.
Materials and methods. The data collection technique in this study through a special needs motory ability test consisted of a zigzag run test, softball throw, wall pass, medicine ball-putt, and a 30-meter run. Quasi method experiments with quantitative approaches were used in this study, while the study’s constellation uses the design of two group pretest and posttest design. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive analysis aims to describe the characteristics of this study whereas inferential analysis uses paired test analysis at a significant level α = 0.05, overall, the data analysis is used in the SPSS program version 25.0.
Results. The results of this study can be argued that traditional sports game therapy can improve the motor skills of children with special needs. However, this study is only limited to knowing the motor skills of children with special needs in special needs school Karanganyar and Sukoharjo. It is recommended for further research by considering psychological, psychosocial, and other factors with improved physical fitness in children with special needs as a whole.
Conclusions. This research can be concluded that there is an influence of traditional game therapy on the improvement of motor skills of children with special needs in special needs school Sukoharjo and Karanganyar.
