Abstract Background. One common chronic condition is diabetes mellitus (DM), which is more prevalent in the elderly and is often linked to a variety of issues and concomitant conditions. Geriatric symptoms, such as depression, weakness, tiredness, and insomnia, are known to impact health outcomes in this demographic significantly. Objective. This study investigated the connection between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels and geriatric symptoms in seniors with diabetes. Methods. An appropriate sample of fifty senior people (60–85 years old) with diabetes mellitus was selected from the outpatient ward of Saveetha Hospital. The HbA1c values were assessed in addition to examinations for geriatric symptoms using established measures. Potential correlations between HbA1c levels and geriatric syndromes were examined by statistical analysis. Results. The following variables showed significant positive relationships with HbA1c levels: frailty (r = 0.571, p < 0.000), fatigue (r = 0.725, p < 0.000), sleeplessness (r = 0.631, p < 0.000), and geriatric depression (r = 0.529, p < 0.000). Conclusion. In older diabetes mellitus patients, higher HbA1c levels were linked to a higher prevalence of fatigue, insomnia, frailty, and depression. These results emphasize the need for glycemic control in treating geriatric diseases in this population.

Abstract Introduction. Balance impairments and mobility limitations are prevalent challenges among elderly individuals, often contributing to an increased risk of falls and a diminished quality of life. Traditional physiotherapy interventions have effectively addressed these issues, but novel approaches, such as virtual reality (VR) therapy, have emerged as potential enhancements to rehabilitation protocols. Through its immersive environments, VR therapy may engage and challenge patients, potentially leading to improved outcomes. Objective. To investigate whether VR therapy enhances balance and mobility outcomes in elderly patients compared with a traditional physiotherapy protocol. Methods. Sixty elderly individuals, aged 65 and above, referred for outpatient physiotherapy due to balance and mobility issues, were recruited for this randomized controlled trial (RCT) with two parallel arms. They were randomly allocated to the intervention group, treated with VR therapy sessions, while the control group received traditional physiotherapy sessions focused on balance exercises and mobility. The treatment duration was twice a week for over 8 weeks. Baseline assessments were conducted before the intervention, and follow-up assessments were performed immediately after the 8-week intervention period. Outcome Measures. Primary Outcome: Balance was assessed using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) as the primary outcome, while mobility was assessed using the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, and quality of life was evaluated using the EQ-5D Questionnaire as the secondary outcome. Results. The VR therapy group demonstrated a more significant improvement in balance (BBS score increase of 12.4 points) than the control group (BBS score increase of 7.6 points). Regarding mobility, the VR group reduced TUG time by 3.8 seconds, compared to 2.8 seconds in the control group, indicating faster completion times and improved functional mobility. The VR group reported a more significant increase in quality of life (0.17 EQ-5D improvement) compared to the control group (0.12 improvement), suggesting that immersive therapy positively impacted overall well-being. Conclusion. It was anticipated that the VR therapy group would demonstrate more significant improvements in balance, mobility, and quality of life than those in the traditional physiotherapy group.

Abstract
Background: The geriatric Population faces common health challenges such as Frailty and neck Pain, which increases the risk for adverse ADL. It leads to a greater level of disability & Headache risk, lower physical functioning and reduced quality of life. A Biopsychosocial Approach centred on activities, emphasizing the enhancement of Biological factors, Psychological factors and Social functional performance to achieve the goals of the Biopsychosocial Approach. This involves intensifying exercise training by leveraging the environment, conducting thorough task analysis, providing feedback and consistently repeating training sessions. Objective: To determine the effects of the Biopsychosocial Approach on Subacute Neck Pain in the geriatric population, focusing on pain, neck-specific disability and work status. Methods: 64 samples were randomly allocated into two groups. The experimental group received the Biopsychosocial Approach, which integrated biological, psychological and social aspects activity-centred, emphasizing repeated training sessions over 8 weeks. The control group underwent Conservative Management 3 days/week for the same duration. Pre and post-test assessments were conducted using the PCS, NDI and AQoL-8D. Results: The significant improvements in the experimental group compared to the control group were demonstrated by the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney Rank scores (p < 0.001). Specifically, participants in the experimental group experienced reduced neck pain, enhanced neck function, and improved quality outcomes. The results suggest that the Biopsychosocial Approach effectively addressed the multifaceted nature of pain. Conclusion: The study provides compelling evidence supporting Biopsychosocial in reducing neck pain and improving overall quality of life among geriatric populations.

Abstract
Objective. To determine the effect of joint mobilization on Heel Fat Pad Syndrome among obese geriatrics. Methods. The randomized controlled study was performed at the Saveetha Physiotherapy OPD, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. 202 samples aged above 60 years were collected based on the criterion for inclusion and exclusion. Interventions. The experimental Group (101Subjects) was treated with Ultrasound and Joint Mobilization. The Control Group (101 Subjects) was treated with Ultrasound and conventional Exercises. The lifestyle and Balance Assessment used the Foot Function Index and Berg balance scale. A numeric Pain Rating Scale was used to measure Pain. Results. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test revealed a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the experimental Group between the pre-test and post-test values of NPRS, FFI, and BBS. Similarly, the Control Group showed a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the pre-test and post-test values of NPRS, FFI, and BBS. The comparison of post-test scores between the Experimental Group and the Control Group also showed a significant difference (p < 0.001), indicating significant improvements in the experimental group. As a result, the effects of Joint Mobilization on Heel Pad Syndrome minimize the symptoms of heel fat pad syndrome, Improve Foot Function and balance and reduce pain. Conclusion. The study provided evidence that ultrasound and joint mobilization used in this study show a significant reduction in pain and balance with non-specific heel pain.
