Abstract
This study aims to develop instructional materials for sports management courses as an initial step toward aligning with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) curriculum. The identified issue is the outdated and irrelevant nature of existing materials used at the Faculty of Sport Science (FIK), Medan State University, which hampers the quality of education. To address this, the research employed a design and development methodology, encompassing four key phases: analysis, design, production, and evaluation. The trials were conducted in stages, starting with a limited trial involving 30 students, followed by a main trial with 50 students, and concluding with an operational trial including 60 students from the Department of Physical Education, Health, and Recreation at the Faculty of Sport Science (FIK), Medan State University. The results revealed that in the limited trial, the teaching materials received an average score of 45%, categorized as very poor. After revisions, the main trial showed improvement, with an average score of 75% (good category), and in the operational trial, the materials achieved an average score of 92%, classified as very good. The contribution of this research lies in the development of relevant and effective instructional resources for sports management education, aligned with the KKNI curriculum and ready for implementation. The study concludes that these teaching materials are suitable for use in qualification-based curriculum development.
