Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of circuit resistance training over 6 weeks at low, medium, and high intensity on increasing upper extremity muscle strength. This quasi-experimental research used a three-group pretest-posttest design and included a population of 300 physical education, health, and recreation students at Sriwijaya University. A sample of 54 participants was selected by stratified random sampling. The initial test of upper extremity muscle strength was a 30-second push-up test, after which participants were divided into three groups: (K1) circuit resistance training at low intensity (50%), (K2) medium intensity (60%), and (K3) high intensity (70%). The final test of upper extremity muscle strength was also a 30-second push-up test. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results showed an increase in all groups after 6 weeks of training (p < 0.05) and significant differences between the three groups (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that circuit resistance training at low, medium, and high intensity increases upper extremity muscle strength, with the best improvement seen in the high-intensity group.

Correlation between physical activity with body mass index and body fat percentage: A study of final year students in junior high school

Abstract
Study purpose. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity (PA), body mass index (BMI), and body fat percentage in final-year students at the junior high school level.
Methods. This research is quantitative with a correlational research design. The subjects in this study were 9th-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Jogoroto who were selected using random sampling techniques. A total of 58 students (29 boys and 29 girls) were randomly selected and volunteered to participate in this study. PA levels were measured using the IPAQ questionnaire, body fat percentage was measured using the Tanita InnerScan Body Composition Monitor scales model BC-541, and BMI was obtained from the formula = body weight (kg)/body height² (m). The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistical tests and Spearman’s rho rank correlation with the help of Microsoft Excel 2016 and SPSS version 25.
Results. The results of the correlation test show that the correlation coefficient is negative and the significance is greater than 0.05 between PA and BMI (r = −0.162, p = 0.225 > 0.05) and body fat percentage (r = -0.095, p = 0.480 > 0.05). It can be said that these two relationships are weak, while BMI and body fat percentage have a positive correlation and significance less than 0.05 (r = 0.779, p = 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that BMI and body fat percentage have a strong correlation.
Conclusions. The conclusion is that PA is negatively correlated with BMI and body fat percentage, although neither relationship is significant. However, BMI was found to have a positive and significant correlation with body fat percentage in students. Therefore, it is recommended that students maintain their PA in line with WHO recommendations and keep their BMI within the normal range. If your BMI is normal, it is likely that your body fat percentage is also normal.

Abstract
Aim of the study. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of resistance circuit training and psychological techniques on archery accuracy at distances of 50, 40, and 30 meters. This research was conducted as a quasi-experimental study using a matching-only design. Subjects were divided into two groups: (K1) athletes trained with mental imagery and circuit training using equipment, and (K2) athletes trained with mental imagery and circuit training without equipment. The intervention lasted for six weeks, with training sessions three times per week.
Results. The findings of this study indicated significant differences between pre-test and post-test results in both groups (K1 and K2) (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study suggests that resistance circuit training, both with and without equipment, combined with mental imagery training, can enhance archery accuracy. It is recommended that this type of training be incorporated into athletes’ training programs. Future research should explore the integration of various training programs with more diverse and dynamic exercises.

Optimizing talent identification and development in finswimming athletes: Challenges and innovative solutions

Abstract
The main  objective of this article is to highlight the components of anthropometry, biomotor abilities, and skills related to the identification and development of young athletes’ talent and to propose several possible solutions that practitioners and researchers can consider to optimize talent identification. A  total of 60 Intermediate First students were recruited and tested for anthropometry, biomotor abilities, and skills. The subjects selected for this study were chosen based on the criteria that they had participated in extracurricular swimming activities and could swim freestyle for 50 meters. The  results show that anthropometry is an important factor, with the following values: height (TB) 0.895a, lean body weight (BBTL) 0.832a, leg length (PTU) 0.819a, hand length (PTA) 0.738a, arm span (RL) 0.705a, and body weight (BB) 0.682a. The  biomotor values are as follows: explosive power of leg muscles (DLOT) 0.896a, left ankle dorsiflexion (ADFKI) 0.797a, leg muscle strength (KOT) 0.701a, right ankle dorsiflexion (ADFKA) 0.683a, explosive power of arm muscles (DLOL) 0.638a, arm muscle strength (KOL) 0.637a, left ankle plantar flexion (APLKA) 0.514a, and right ankle plantar flexion (APLKI) 0.545a. Several  skill characteristics that significantly influence bi-fin swimming athletes’ talents include breathing using a snorkel (BMS) 0.579a, swimming 100 meters using a snorkel and fins (B100) 0.532a, and underwater kicking for 15 meters (UW15) 0.500a. These findings provide proof that components of anthropometry (BB, TB, PTU, PTA, RL, and BBTL), biomotor abilities (KOT, ADFKI, ADFKA, APFKI, APFKA, KOL, DLOT, and DLOL), and skills (BMS, B100, and UW15) related to the identification and development of young athletes’ talent in finswimming (bi-fins) can provide solutions and a strong foundation to support the development of athletes’ talent. However, further research is required to confirm and validate this finding.
