Abstract
Purpose. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between systolic and diastolic blood pressure and cardiovascular capacity in the elderly. Method. This research is an analytical observational study conducted with a cross-sectional approach. The sample involved 43 elderlies with characteristics: age 66.79 ± 4.24; weight 62.4 ± 11.66; and height 157.83 ± 6.77. The blood pressure measurements were carried out using a tensimeter, while the cardiovascular measurements were carried out using a 2-minute step test based on the senior fitness test procedure. Pearson’s correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between cardiorespiratory ability and blood pressure. Results. The Pearson’s data analysis test results showed a negative correlation between cardiorespiratory capacity and systolic blood pressure (r(41) = −0.516, p = < 0.001) and diastolic (r(41) = −0.442, p = 0.003). Conclusion. The higher the cardiorespiratory level in the elderly, the lower the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Thus, good cardio respiration is known to provide positive benefits in better blood pressure regulation in the elderly. Exercise may be needed so that the elderly obtains good cardiorespiratory fitness and, at the same time, normal blood pressure.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG0DF55B

Abstract

Study Purpose. Poor hamstring muscle flexibility is one of the most common risk factors for hamstring injuries. This is due to tension in the musculotendinus structures which reduces the ability of the muscles to extend rapidly without injury. Therefore, this study aims to prove the effect of using PNF stretching and Static stretching exercises on the level of flexibility of the hamstring muscles in athletes.
Materials and Methods. Researchers used Quasi Experimental Design research procedures. This form of design is a development of true experimental design. After being divided into two, the sample will undergo an exercise program like usually given by the coach and after the practice session cooling down sample will be given two treatments, namely the group with treatment Static stretching And group Which other get treat the PNF Stretching exercise. The subjects of this study were Futsal athletes at SMA Negeri 4 Metro using purposive sampling so that there were 20 athletes. Furthermore, data analysis in this study was assisted using the SPSS 26 application.
Results. The results of the study obtained the results that there was a significant effect on PNF stretching on the level of muscle flexibility of futsal athletes, namely 0.000 < 0.05. The results show an increase in the degree of flexibility of the torso by 19.5%. In Static Stretching, it shows a significant increase in the level of flexibility of the muscles of Futsal athletes, namely 0.000 < 0.05 by showing an increase in the degree of flexibility of the torso by 6.7%. Furthermore, there is no significant difference between PNF stretching and static stretching in increasing the hamstring flexibility of futsal athletes.
Conclusions. The results of this study provide evidence that the PNF Stretching and Static Stretching exercises both have a significant effect on the results of hamstring muscle flexibility. That way, the results of this study can be applied in efforts to prevent injuries in sports. Researchers recommend the application of PNF Stretching and Static Stretching can be done regularly in sports coaching.

Abstract
Study Purpose. Somatotype is a parameter used to determine criteria based on body type. However, not many have done somatotype measurements in selecting prospective athletes. This study aims to analyze the somatotype of athletes in the Tarung Derajat martial arts sport.
Material and Methods. This research uses descriptive research methods with survey research types and quantitative approaches, namely an anthropometric measurement test to identify the type of human body. Anthropometric measurement test is carried out by measuring bone width, body circumference, body fat thickness, weight and height. Perposive sampling technique was used in determining the sample. In this study, there were 30 Tarung Derajat martial arts athletes consisting of 15 categories of motion art and 15 categories of fighting that were sampled.
Results. The results of the study show that the central body type in athletes in the arts of motion with a percentage of 13% and 40% in combat athletes. Furthermore, the endomorph body type is 13% for motion art athletes and combat athletes with a percentage of 7%. For the endomorph-mesomorph body type as much as movement arts with a percentage of 67% and combat athletes by 47%, while for the Mesomorph, Mesomorph-Ectomorph body type there are no athletes and athletes in the arts of motion and fighting have an ectomorph endomorph body type with a percentage of 7%. The results of the study prove that in athletes in the movement arts category and fighters there are similarities in the body type they have which tend to have endomorph-mesomorph.
Conclusions. The conclusion is that the dominant body type in Tarung Derajat athletes shows an endomorph-mesomorph tendency with a percentage value of 67% in the movement arts category and 47% in the fighter category. The data of this study provide the characteristics of fighting somatotypes, which can be used to establish references for systematic research in sports health sciences. The results of this study are expected to influence coaching for training concentration, with more emphasis on somatotype.
