Abstract

Introduction. The autism is an all-embracing development disorder that affects all areas of the child functioning. It causes disturbances in the interpersonal communication. It leads to difficulties in submission to social rules due to the lack of their understanding.
Material and Methods. In this research the case of two children has been described, Zazanna and Aleksander, who took part in the physiotherapeutic sessions with the physiotherapist at the National Autistic Society in Kielce, once a week for 1 hour.  The research was held in the period from November 2015 to March 2016. The children were 4 years old. The PEP model with a scale 0-5 was used to evaluate the children.
Results. The children with atypical autism have disturbances in perception, communication and speech.  The least difficult are for them tasks related with gross motor and visual-motor coordination. The examined boy was more promising comparing to the girl.
Conclusions. The children with diagnosed atypical autism differ in terms of psychophysical development depending on their gender. According to the psychoeducational profile PEP, the physiotherapy reduces disorders resulting from the diagnosed autism spectrum. The gender has significant influence on the fine and gross motor development in children with ASD.

Abstract

Introduction. Dentists, due to the conditions of their work, are exposed to many loads both physical and psychological. Considering the ergonomics of work, health status of this professional group should be considered primarily in terms of diseases of the spine, especially the cervical. This applies to all items in the work, both independently, as well as in team techniques, where apart from monotypy and monotony, there is always forced posture, and large static load, that contributing to a lot of degenerative arthritis changes of the cervical spine disorders, which are the result of the above-mentioned degenerations. Material and method. The study were conducted in the Department of Propedeutics and Dental Physicodiagnostics of the Pomeranian Medical University. The study group consisted of 36 fifth-year students of dentistry at the Faculty of Medical-Dentistry, Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin with chronic pain of the cervical spine. Group of examined persons was subjected to the treatment with Kinesiology Taping method,  in which were used muscular and ligaments technique , accordance with the methodology. In the study has been used diagnostic survey method – a questionnaire. To assess the degree of feeling pain by the subjects were used a visual analogue scale VAS in the horizontal format in the range of 0-10.
Results. Considering the range of motion of the cervical spine flexion, the Kinesiology Taping method has improved in this movement, and extension range in the cervical spine improved more than the range of flexion. Taking the scope of the movement of the bend into the side, as well as the turn of the cervical spine in the test group were significantly improved, both in motion toward the right as and left. Examined in terms of assessing the level of the declared values of pain on VAS observed a significant reduction of this disease. Conclusion. Kinesiology Taping application also favorably influenced the range of motion of the cervical spine, while improving comfort work. Kinesiology Taping method applied among young dentists had a positive effect on the declared value of pain on the VAS, which transfers into a reduction. Abstract

Introduction. The lower back pain syndromes can be defined as a series of ailments associated mainly with the lumbosacral section of a spine. The intervertebral discs disorders and degenerative processes are being  considered the major cause of these syndromes. A lower back pain may also be caused by the anatomical structures of a spine. The treatment of a lumbosacral pain is always a complex procedure. It includes kinezytherapy, physiotherapy and aims to reduce the pain, strengthen the muscular corset, restore the range of movement, muscle strength, and to re-educate patients in the areas of the correct posture patterns and the physical activities. Materials and Methods. In the research participated 38 patients with the diagnosed lumbar degenerative disc disease. The patients had been divided into 2 groups – control group and study group. All the participants, before they took part in the research, had been subjected to various forms of treatment and had been taking pain and anti-inflammatory medications. The study group had undergone treatment according to the McKenzie method, while the control group had  applied the Maigne syndrome exercises. Both groups were treated with the physiotherapeutic procedures. After completing the exercises, each group filled out a questionnaire regarding the treatment. Objective: To determine the impact of treatment according to the McKenzie method on changes in the functional status of patients with the lumbar degenerative disc disease. Conclusions. The research has shown, that the application of the McKenzie method yielded positive results in terms of the increased range of movement within the lumbosacral spine section, in all patients. McKenzie method exercises do have an impact on the peripheral joints of the spine. The physiotherapy treatment according to the McKenzie method, applied in the study group, resulted in a reduction of pain in the l-s spine section, in 100% of patients. The Maigne method application in patients with the diagnosed lumbar degenerative disc disease, only in a mild way alters the patients’ sensation of the lower back pain.

O.A. Panchenko, Z. Śliwiński, S.M.Radchenko, A.V. Kabantseva: Hardware-software medical rehabilitation complex for vertebral diseases patients. Fizjoterapia Polska 2015;15(3);6-11

Abstract
The distinctive feature of modern medical rehabilitation procedures is a high information level of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, new diagnostic tools for external manipulation with a human body (rehabilitation equipment, hardware – software complexes and so on) based on the most advanced cybernetic and electronic microtechnology methodologies, programming etc.
All of those systems are focused on accurate dosing parameters provision, maintaining of its values in terms of patient’s physiological characteristics variability, and so on.
So called biofeedback complex plays the most important role in all these systems. Its purpose is to aim development and improvement processes and self-regulation mechanisms for physiological functions in various pathological conditions. Such systems in Ukrainian rehabilitation facilities are still rare, but our experience proved their practice effectiveness and promoted our own promising rehabilitation method.
The aim of our investigation is to research and analyze multi-functional hardware-software system EN-TreeM in vertebral diseases patients’ rehabilitation course.
According the results of our investigation we can make a conclusion, that single session kinesitherapy effect on musculoskeletal system disorders for patients of both sexes is characterized by muscle strength increase and endurance. Kinesitherapy stimulating effect on the human body improves the functional state of the neuromuscular system. Qualitative characteristics of strength value for female and male patients as a result of rehabilitation session increased by an average of 1 (95% BI 0; 2) kgs (p < 0.05); muscle endurance for female patients varied by an average of 2 (95% ВІ 1; 3), for male patients 1 (95% ВІ 0, 4) (p < 0.05). Rehabilitation course showed an increase muscular endurance of male patients by an average of 4 (95% CI 2, 6), statistically significant differences for female patients’ endurance parameters before and after were not recorded.
Miographical studies have shown that the value of chronaxia by kinesitherapy rate remained stable for female and male patients, varied by 70 ± 16 (95% BI 60; 123) ms. This shows the lability of muscle tone for male ones due to the high proportion of striated muscle.
Clinical observations showed good kinesitherapy procedures tolerability and lack of adverse reactions. All patients reported pain reduction or initial pain relief. The improvement occurred even after the first procedure. When rehabilitation course was finished, there was significant reduction in pain and inflammation and even complete relief of pain and destructive inflammatory responses. Range of motion was increased. Vertebrogenic pain relief was observed after 2-5 days of treatment, radicular pain relief was observed after 4-6 days of treatment.
Kinesitherapy and cryotherapy usage in treatment of musculoskeletal system disorders for patients of both sexes are well tolerated. There are no side effects, such treatment promotes inflammation regression, reduces the severity of pain and reflex tonic syndromes.

Abstract
Introduction. In Poland and in the world breast cancer is the most frequent malignancy among women. Complications occurring after the applied therapy lower the quality of patients’ life. One of the many adverse effects of breast cancer treatment is lymphedema. Removal of lymph nodes and damage to lymphatic vessels make the transport of high-molecular proteins difficult, and at the same time, they have an influence on an increase in the colloid-osmotic pressure, water retention in the inter-tissue space, the loss of lymphatic vascular tone and reduction of the hydrostatic pressure. If not treated, lymphedema causes ailments in the form of recurrent inflammatory conditions of the skin, lymphatic vessels, which greatly reduces the patients’ psychophysical efficiency and promotes the development of lymphosarcoma of the upper limb on the side of mastectomy. One of the methods of lymphedema treatment is Kinesiology Taping. In Poland, the term dynamic taping is more and more frequently used. Application of this method causes that healing processes occur in the patient in a painless and natural way.
Aim. To present the possibilities of using lymphatic techniques of dynamic taping in women after mastectomy and to assess the impact of the applications on the secondary lymphedema.  The author decided to verify the main objective through the following research hypotheses:
1.Applications of dynamic taping reduce lymphedema in women after mastectomy.
2.Techniques of the Kinesiology Taping method influence the change of motion ranges in the joints of the upper limb.
Material and research methods. The study was performed in the Department of Rehabilitation of Holycross Cancer Centre in Kielce. The study group consisted of 73 patients after mastectomy diagnosed with secondary lymphedema of the upper limb. The volume of upper limbs was measured with the use of a measuring cylinder filled with water. Measurements of motion ranges in the joints of upper limbs were performed with the use of a goniometer.
Results and conclusions. Analysis of the results shows that the employed lymphatic applications reduce lymphedema, increase the range of motion in the joints of the upper limb on the operated side and promote healing processes, contributing to the improvement of physical efficiency and the quality of life.
