Abstract
This case study involves a 23-year-old woman, diagnosed and treated for dermatomyositis. It was shown to be a case of idiopathic inflammable myopathy masking a malignant tumor. Subsequent phases are described in the development of symptoms and treatment. The fact that disease culminated in the patient’s decease 8 months after onset of first symptoms confirms the authors’ thesis, that every patient diagnosed with dermatomyositis (DM), especially at an adult age, should be carefully diagnosed in the direction of neoplastic disease.
