Abstract

Psychosocial stressors consist of work environment, family environment, and community environment. Kindergarten teachers as teachers or early educators, must be able to provide basic knowledge, find good and tough personalities in their students. This is one of the factors that cause the body to experience a decrease in fatigue at work. Study purpose. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of circulo massage on reducing work fatigue of female kindergarten teachers. Materials and methods. This research is a pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design using a circulo on the sample, while the data collection technique uses a questionnaire and the population is female kindergarten teachers. The number of samples in this study were 12 people. The data analysis technique used a t-test with a tool in the form of the SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) program. Results. The results show the average work fatigue score obtained before = 38.67 and after = 24.42 difference = 14.25 with t count = 6.362 in degrees of freedom (DF) = 11 and obtained t table of 2.201. The results of the data above show that the value of t count is greater than t table, meaning that there is a significant decrease from the comparison of t count with t table. Conclusions, therefore this result can be concluded that circulo massage is proven to have a significant effect on reducing work fatigue of state kindergarten teachers.

Effect of Anemia on Fatigue and Oxygen Saturation levels in Menopausal Anemic Women

Abstract
Background. Reduced number of red blood cells and hemoglobin defined as anemia which lowering the capability of the blood to deliver oxygen to all body tissues. Anemia leads to fatigue and dyspnea on exertion, which can decrease a patient’s ability to accomplish normal daily living activities. Platelets and red blood cells aggregation increase with age, which decreasing the delivery of oxygen to the tissues by elevating blood viscosity flow in the microcirculation. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of anemia on Fatigue and Oxygen Saturation levels in Menopausal Anemic Women. Methods. An Observational case control study design, convenience sample of 50 menopausal women, their age ranged between 45 to 55 years old were divided into two groups (A&B). Group A consisted of 25 non-anemic women while, Group B consisted of 25 anemic women. All participants were evaluated through 6MWT for endurance, BS scale for exertion, FSS for fatigue and PULSE OXIMETER for oxygen saturation. Results. Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant decrease (p < 0.05) in endurance and oxygen saturation of group (B) compared with group (A) and also there was a significant increase (p < 0.05) in fatigue level and exertion level of group (B) compared with group (A), Conclusions: Anemic menopausal women have higher fatigue and exertion levels and lower endurance and oxygen saturation levels than non-anemic menopausal women.

Electromyographic responses of the quadriceps muscles to fast and slow perturbations after fatiguing exercise

Abstract

Introduction. An appropriate postural response of the quadriceps muscle to an unexpected perturbation reduces the risk of knee injuries. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of fatigue on postural response of the quadriceps to fast and slow perturbations.
Material and method. Fatigue induced to the quadriceps muscle using a KinCom Isokinetic Dynamometer (Chattanooga, TN). Bipolar surface electromyographic (EMG) signals were simultaneously recorded from quadriceps components (vastus medialis, rectus femoris, and vastus lateralis) during pre- and post-fatigue postural perturbation performed at two different velocities of 120 ms and 250 mes.
Results. Maximal voluntary knee extension force and time to task failure were significantly reduced after fatiguing knee exercise (P < 0.05). The ARV of EMG during fast-perturbation was significantly higher than slow-perturbation (P < 0.05). Moreover, The ARV of EMG was significantly reduced during post fatigue perturbation, with a largest reduction identified for fast-perturbation compared with slow perturbation (P < 0.05).
Conclusion. Reduction in quadriceps muscle activity during post fatigue fast-perturbation was significantly larger than post fatigue slow- perturbation, most likely due to preferential recruitment of fast twitch muscle fiber which is more susceptible to fatigue. This may partly explain that why knee injuries is common after fast ballistic movement.
