Magdalena Wilk, Wojciech W. Fibiger, Bogusław Frańczuk – The application of high-tone power therapy in the rehabilitation of patients with soft-tissue damage to the knee joint. Fizjoterapia Polska 2002; 2(2); 118-121

Abstract
Background. This article presents the preliminary results from the treatment of patients with traumatic knee injuries using high-tone power therapy (HiToP). Material and method. The research involved 10 patients treated in the Traumatic Surgery, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation Clinic of the Jagiellonian University’s Collegium Medicum in Cracow. The device used for the procedures was a high-tone power therapy apparatus of German manufacture – HiToP – which has been approved for use in European Union countries. The patients received a series of 10 procedures (45 min. each) performed every other day. Results. Improvement was obtained in all patients. Conclusions. The preliminary treatment results for traumatic knee injuries are encouraging.

Piotr Wróbel, Rafał Trąbka, Beata Niedźwiedzka – High-tone power therapy in the treatment of low back pain. Fizjoterapia Polska 2003; 3(2); 205-209

Abstract
This work presents an analysis of the possibilities of applying an energotonic therapy device in the treatment of low back pain. The theoretical and practical foundations are discussed, using the example of a HiToP 184 device. The goal of the article is to review the use of energotonic therapy in clinical practice. The material was collected at a private specialist practice in Cracow.

The use of high-tone power therapy in the rehabilitation of patients with coxarthrosis

Anna Mika, Paweł Polak – The use of high-tone power therapy in the rehabilitation of patients with coxarthrosis. Fizjoterapia Polska 2007; 7(4); 401-408

Abstract
Background. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of high-tone power therapy on complaints related to coxarthrosis, i. e. reduced range of motion and pain. Material and methods. 12 subjects (aged 48-80) suffering from coxarthrosis received a series of 10 high-tone power (HiToP) therapy procedures. Additionally, 20 minutes of exercise was applied after each HiToP session. The subjects were evaluated for hip range of motion and pain level three times: before starting treatment (baseline), after the 5th session and on completion of the treatment (after the 10th session on the last day of the treatment). Results. Statistically significant changes in the functional parameters and pain level in comparison to baseline values were observed after the 5th visit. After the 10th visit, there was a significant increase in the hip range of motion in all planes assessed and a decrease in pain level. Conclusion. The treatment of coxarthrosis using high-tone power therapy and postisometric relaxation had a beneficial effect on the range of motion in the hip and coxarthrosis-related pain in the study group.
