DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG143IT9

Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine how circuit training affects the fitness of volleyball players. This research employs an experimental approach using a “one-group pretest-posttest design”. The research instrument is the TKJI (Indonesian Physical Freshness Test) tailored for the age group of 16-19 years. The study population comprises volleyball players from the IPK Kuamang club, with a total of 20 individuals. Sampling was conducted using a targeted sampling technique, and the sample consisted of 10 individuals. Data analysis was carried out using the Liliefors normality test and t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results indicated a significant effect of circuit training on physical fitness, as evidenced by an average pre-test score of 12.3 and an average post-test score of 15.2. This conclusion is supported by the finding that t_count = 13.1 > t_table = 1.833 after completing the t-test. Therefore, H₀ is rejected, and H₁ is accepted. Hence, circuit training significantly impacts physical fitness.

Fizjoterapia Polska 2023; 23(3); 108-115

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG143R1m

Abstract
A coordinated sequence of movements is required to generate maximum power and velocity in shot put. Kinematic chains emphasize the interactions between various body segments during a movement. They suggest that force production and transfer are optimized by coordinating multiple joints and muscle groups. In previous research, the kinematic chain has been attributed to shot put performance. Few studies have examined the effects of a comprehensive kinematic chain exercise protocol on throwing performance among shot put athletes, particularly at universities. Pilot study investigating lower body, core, and upper body kinematic chain exercise protocol on university shot put athletes’ throwing performance. A total of twenty-four young athletes specializing in shotput, with an average age of 19.87 years and a standard deviation of 1.31 years, were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, using a random assignment method, the experimental group, consisting of 12 participants, underwent an 8-week kinematic chain training program alongside their regular training sessions. On the other hand, the control group, also consisting of 12 participants, only participated in their regular training sessions without any additional intervention. Pre- and post-training assessments were conducted to measure shotput throwing performance, preference for throwing style, and the participants’ satisfaction with the exercise protocol, using a questionnaire. The athletes who took part in the kinematic chain program demonstrated a significant improvement in throwing distance compared to the control group (p = 0.01). Additionally, the athletes in the experimental group reported higher levels of satisfaction with the exercise protocol (p = 0.005). These findings indicate that incorporating an 8-week Lower Body, Core and Upper Body kinematic chain exercise protocol into regular training sessions can lead to more pronounced improvements in sport-specific throwing performance among young shotput athletes.

Sumarjo, Sigit Nugroho, Riky Dwihandaka, Yudik Prasetyo, Susanto – The effectiveness of massage to increase the work productivity of persons with disabilities. Fizjoterapia Polska 2023; 23(3); 76-83

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG143371

Abstract
Introduction. The development of human resources begins even before birth, by focusing on the well-being of expectant mothers, and continues throughout various life stages: infancy, toddlerhood, preschool and school years, adolescence, adulthood, and old age.
Aim. The aim of this research is to examine and assess the effectiveness of a specific type of health massage in enhancing work productivity among individuals with physical disabilities. This productivity encompasses motivation, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and independence.
Method. This study employed a quasi-experimental research method utilizing a one-group time series design (pretest-posttest). The initial observation (pretest) was conducted followed by the posttest observation. The treatment group underwent a massage therapy targeting work productivity factors in people with physical disabilities, encompassing five influential elements: (1) motivation, (2) knowledge, (3) skills, (4) attitudes, and (5) independence. The research sample was drawn from the existing population using a non-random purposive sampling technique. Data collection involved assessments and measurements, with a questionnaire serving as the testing tool for measuring work productivity. Data analysis entailed analysis of variance.
Results. The research findings reveal a significant disparity between the initial and final variables, with a significance value (two-tailed) of less than 0.05, as determined by paired t-tests. However, the ANOVA test yielded a significance value of 0.267. This implies a significant impact of the health massage treatment on work productivity variables—motivation, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and independence—for individuals with physical disabilities.
Conclusion. The most substantial and effective increase in work productivity was observed in the motivation variable, with a percentage increase of 16.75%.

Pomo Warih Adi, Andri Arif Kustiawan

Pomo Warih Adi, Andri Arif Kustiawan – Training model of basic football techniques for early age: systematic review. Fizjoterapia Polska 2023; 23(3); 60-68

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG14386F

Abstract
Study Purpose. The purpose of this study was to describe the training model of basic football techniques for the early-age group.
Materials and Methods. The primary method used in this study was a literature review. A literature review is a research design utilized to gather data sources related to a specific topic to depict the core content based on the retrieved information. As part of the data collection for the literature review, databases were employed to search for relevant literature. The data was aggregated using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method. This research entailed analyzing journal articles and formulating a summary concerning the research questions and objectives. The journal search and review procedures were executed via the PICOT method. Each question addressed P = problem/population, with this study zeroing in on the pertinent problem. The research analyzed the model of basic soccer technique training segmented by age groups, as represented by the I/E = implementation/intervention/exposure component of PICOT. The subsequent component, C = control/comparative intervention, was not incorporated in this study. Finally, T = time was delimited by narrowing the review to journals published within the last decade. Journal articles evaluated in this study were sourced from both national and international publications via numerous scientific journal platforms.
Results. The study determined that the training model for basic football techniques can be categorized by age group, which includes (1) 6–7 years old, (2) 7–8 years old, and (3) 10–11 years old. The training methodology encompasses (1) ball mastery and juggling, (2) dribbling and running with the ball, (3) passing and receiving, (4) heading, (5) throw-ins, and (6) small-sided games. Essential equipment for training includes (a) portable goalposts of varying sizes, (b) a kicking board or rebound goal, (c) a mobile free-kick wall, (d) cones of different dimensions, (e) basic physical exercise equipment, (f) balls of diverse sizes and colors, (g) areas designated for soccer tennis and soccer volleyball drills, (h) a video camera, and (i) a storage section for equipment.
Conclusion. Mastering the fundamental techniques of football is paramount in cultivating children’s soccer skills. Consequently, the instruction for basic football techniques is sequentially administered based on the unique attributes of each age group. The rudimentary football technique training model, stratified by age, includes (1) ball mastery and juggling, (2) dribbling and running with the ball, (3) passing and receiving, (4) heading, (5) throw-ins, and (6) small-sided games, each tailored according to the learners’ requirements and progress. By grasping the traits affiliated with soccer, trainers and educators can proffer suitable training materials during sessions. Solo and small-group exercises, primarily in duos, are vital for refining ball control and facilitating paced learning. Training exercises are often executed in pairs to bolster communication, foster collaboration, and deepen the understanding of soccer tenets.

The difference of the influence of the weight of school supplies on body posture features in carrying on the right or left shoulder by 7-year-old students of both sexes

Mirosław Mrozkowiak

Mirosław Mrozkowiak – The difference of the influence of the weight of school supplies on body posture features in carrying on the right or left shoulder by 7-year-old students of both sexes. Fizjoterapia Polska 2023; 23(3); 32-58

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG143751

Abstract
Introduction. Periodically, at the turn of August and September the problem of overloading children with too heavy schoolbags rises and it may initiate various disorders not only around the spine area. Material, method. The research on body posture was carried out in a group of 65 7-year-old students by Projection Moiré in 8 positions. First position – habitual position, second – after 10 min. of asymmetric loading on the left or right shoulder, third – after 1 min. of the load removal, and fourth – after 2 min. of the load removal. Results. There were analyses of significance of the differences between 1st and 2nd, 1st and 3rd, 1st and 4th, 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd and 4th measurement to determine the influence of loading and correlation of the differences with physical activity. It was also measured, which way of carrying disturbs the body posture less.
Conclusions.
1. A four-kilograms load of school supplies carried on the left or right shoulder disturbs significantly and negatively biomechanical body statics of a 7-year-old child, which may cause errors in long term perspective and consequently body posture disorders. Relatedly, this way of carrying school supplies is not recommended to first graders.
2. Physical fitness has more significant meaning in biomechanical body statics disorders in frontal plane than in sagittal and transversal plane, relatedly among boys than girls. Endurance and strength show the most common correlations with changes of values of body posture features. In sagittal and transversal plane speed and strength have the greatest meaning but in frontal plane it is endurance and strength.
3. Restitution of none of the analyzed values of body posture features was not complete after 1 and 2 min. when carrying on the left or right shoulder was terminated, which means low overall fitness and immature corrective-compensatory processes.
