Abstract
Purpose. Chronic neck pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder that negatively affects quality of life and functional capacity. This study aimed to investigate the additive effectiveness of Kinesio Taping (KT) combined with a conventional exercise program on pain intensity, neck awareness, and functional status in individuals with chronic neck pain.
Methods. This prospective, randomized, participant- and assessor-blinded clinical trial included 36 individuals with chronic neck pain who were randomly assigned to either the Conventional Exercise + Sham KT group (n = 18) or the Conventional Exercise + Real KT group (n = 18). Due to the nature of the intervention, the therapist applying the taping was not blinded. Pain intensity, neck awareness, and functional status were assessed at baseline and after a three-week intervention period by a blinded assessor.
Results. Both groups showed statistically significant improvements in pain intensity, neck awareness, and functional status after the intervention (p < 0.05). However, intergroup comparisons revealed no statistically significant differences between the Real KT and Sham KT groups in post-treatment values or change scores.
Conclusion. The addition of Kinesio Taping to a conventional cervical exercise program did not provide additional benefits compared with exercises combined with sham taping. The observed clinical improvements appear to be primarily related to the exercise program and the placebo effect associated with taping. These findings question the routine use of Kinesio Taping as a supplementary treatment in chronic neck pain.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56984/8ZG2EF86hK

Abstract
Introduction. The cesarean section rate in the 21st century has significantly increased compared to the previous century. Consequences related to the existence of a scar after a cesarean section may contribute to various discomforts in the abdominal, back, or pelvic regions.
Aim of the study. The research hypothesis posited that the application of stretching therapy of the anterior fascial band has an impact on and is associated with the scar texture after a cesarean section.
Study materials and methodology. Eight women, 3-4 months postpartum, with an average age of 27.5 ± 4.17 years, participated in the study. The MyotonPro device was utilized to assess the biomechanical properties of the tissue around the scar. The women performed stretching exercises for 2 months, twice a week. One session per week was supervised by the researcher, and during the other session, participants performed the assigned exercises independently. Measurements with the MyotonPro device were repeated after 8 weeks.
Results. A strong and positive correlation was observed between: cs_2 and cs_1 r = 0.88, cs_2 and ls_1 r = 0.96, cs_2 and rs_1 r = 0.82, ls_2 and ls_1 r = 0.97, rs_2 and rs_1 r = 0.96.
Conclusions. Engaging in stretching exercises has a positive impact on improving the texture of scar tissue.

Abstract
Introduction. Digital devices and a sedentary lifestyle pose significant health risks in today’s society, further exacerbated by the regular adoption of incorrect posture. Prolonged adoption of an incorrect posture can result in pain and impaired spinal mobility.
Aim of the study. The study aims to evaluate the impact of stretching exercises on improving cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine mobility in the sagittal plane. Furthermore, it sought to examine the potential correlation between the occurrence of pain and the duration of digital equipment usage.
Study materials and methodology. The study was conducted on a sample group of 22 individuals aged 18 to 21 (20.11 ± 1.56) years. Linear measurements, including the Schober and Otto-Wurm tests, were used to examine spinal mobility in the sagittal plane. The subjects were given a 10-day programme comprising six stretching exercises to perform autonomously daily. After ten days, line measurements were retaken.
Results. Significant statistical values were observed for spinal ranges of motion in the sagittal plane; no statistically significant value was obtained for the incidence of pain and the duration of use of digital devices.
Conclusions. The subjects demonstrated improvement in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine mobility in the sagittal plane following the implementation of stretching exercises. Additionally, a decrease in spinal pain was observed.
