Abstract
Background and Study Aim. Obesity is a metabolic disease characterised by excessive fat accumulation. Indonesia ranks second after Singapore with the largest number of obese adolescents. The study aimed to assess the impact of physical activity, eating behavior, and sleep quality on Body Mass Index (BMI) in adolescents.
Materials and Methods. This study was quantitative, with an ex post facto design. The study included 231 students (136 males, 95 females) aged 16-19 years, each with a Body Mass Index (BMI) ≥ 25.1. Participants were healthy and consented to the study by completing a screening questionnaire. The analysis was performed using regression techniques in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 software.
Results. The selected regression model is feasible and demonstrates that physical activity, diet, and sleep quality collectively influence students’ BMI (p-value < 0.001).  Furthermore, the analysis shows that physical activity (p-value < 0.001), diet (p-value = 0.019), and sleep quality (p-value < 0.001) independently affect students’ BMI.
Conclusions. We suggest that schools need to hold counseling programs in collaboration with relevant health workers to conduct counseling with the prevention of malnutrition, especially obesity. Provide additional tasks in the form of physical activity that students must do at home with parental supervision and the results will be reported to the teacher as an additional task value. Parents should also provide supervision of eating behavior and sleep patterns. For future researchers to be able to reveal other variables that can affect student BMI, because our report found only 49.90%.

Abstract
Background. The increasing prevalence of stroke, particularly among younger populations in countries like India, necessitates effective preventive strategies. Modifiable risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, and smoking contribute significantly to stroke incidence. This study focuses on the implementation of a 12-week moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) program to address these risk factors and reduce stroke incidence.
Methodology. The study involved a structured MVPA intervention among individuals at risk of stroke, emphasizing consistent adherence to the protocol. Key outcomes, including systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and total cholesterol levels, were monitored. Cardiovascular fitness improvements were assessed using the Cooper’s Run Test. The study also examined the feasibility and acceptability of the MVPA intervention through participant adherence rates.
Results. The MVPA group exhibited significant reductions in systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and total cholesterol levels compared to the control group. These findings underscore the efficacy of MVPA in managing major stroke risk factors. Additionally, participants demonstrated enhanced cardiovascular endurance, highlighting the program’s positive impact on overall cardiovascular health. High adherence rates in the MVPA group indicated the feasibility of implementing structured exercise protocols for individuals at risk of stroke.
Conclusion. This pilot study demonstrates the effectiveness of a 12-week MVPA program in reducing key stroke risk factors and improving cardiovascular fitness among individuals at risk of stroke. The findings emphasize the importance of structured exercise interventions in stroke prevention efforts. While promising, further research with larger sample sizes and longer durations is necessary to establish the sustained benefits and feasibility of such interventions. Implementing tailored MVPA programs holds significant potential for mitigating stroke risk, offering valuable insights for global stroke prevention strategies.

Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship of living habits during the new normal period with (1) body composition and (2) blood oxygen levels after cycling while wearing a mask. This research is a multicenter study between Indonesia and Malaysia, with the data presented here being specifically from the DI Yogyakarta region in Indonesia, involving an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional approach. The study included 71 research subjects. The instruments used to collect data were fitness behavior during the pandemic (exercise frequency and duration), anthropometric and oxygen saturation measurement after cycling during pandemic. Body composition was determined using the BMI formula, involving height and weight. Oxygen saturation during cycling was measured using the Pulse Oximeter FOX-1(N) by Elitech Technovision. The largest percentage of cycling is twice a week (42.25%), followed by three, one, fifth and fourth times a week. The majority of participants cycled for 120 minutes (35.21%), followed by durations of 180 minutes, 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and so on. Oxygen saturation data shows that most subjects have oxygen saturation of 98% (47.8% of respondents), none of them have 100%, but 97% saturation, 96% occupying the second and third distributions. From the primary data obtained in Indonesia, only oxygen saturation and cycling duration showed a highly significant relationship (p = 0.009), while other variables, such as BMI and cycling frequency, did not exhibit a significant correlation. It can be concluded that a significant relationship exists between exercise duration, specifically cycling, and oxygen saturation in Indonesian subjects.

Dry needling versus muscle energy technique on shoulder adhesive capsulitis post mastectomy

Abstract
Objectives. To compare the effect of dry needling and muscle energy technique on adhesive capsulitis post mastectomy.
Design. A single-blinded randomized clinical study.
Setting. Outpatient setting.
Subjects. Fifty female patients diagnosed with shoulder adhesive capsulitis post mastectomy, ranging in age from 30 to 60 years, were randomly assigned to two groups. Participants in Group A were administered dry needling treatment, plus a traditional physical therapy program in the form of shoulder joint mobilization, shoulder muscle stretching, and ROM exercise; Group B received muscle energy technique, plus a traditional physical therapy program in the form of shoulder joint mobilization, shoulder muscle stretching, and ROM exercise.
Intervention. Two sessions per week over five weeks.
Outcome measures. Shoulder range of motion, pressure pain threshold, and shoulder dysfunction were measured pre-treatment and post-treatment.
Results. There was no statistically significant difference observed in the age distribution between the groups (p > 0.05). Following the treatment, there was a notable rise in the pressure pain threshold and a considerable decline in shoulder dysfunction when compared to the pre-treatment condition (p < 0.001). There was a notable rise in the ranges of shoulder flexion, abduction, and external rotation after the treatment when compared to before the treatment in both group A and B (p > 0.001). The percentage of change in flexion, abduction, and external rotation in group A was 125.03%, 76.43%, and 58.72%, respectively. In contrast, group B exhibited percentage changes of 137.48%, 97.51%, and 68.78% in flexion, abduction, and external rotation, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference seen between the groups prior to treatment, as shown by a p-value greater than 0.05. The analysis of the data after treatment demonstrated a statistically significant rise in the pressure pain threshold for group A in comparison to group B (p < 0.001). However, there was no significant disparity observed in shoulder dysfunction between the two groups (p > 0.05). Following the treatment, there was a notable rise in the range of motion (ROM) for flexion, extension, and abduction in group B when compared to group A (p < 0.001).
Conclusion. Application of either dry needling or muscle energy technique results in a notable enhancement in the severity of symptoms in adhesive capsulitis post mastectomy, with superiority for dry needling.

Abstract
Objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the extent of dyspnoea and the relationship between dyspnoea and physical activity among Poles living in Poland and the United Kingdom (UK) in the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. The pilot study was conducted in January 2023. The study authors received 200 questionnaires from respondents aged 18-69 years (104 from Poland and 96 from the UK). The level of dyspnoea was assessed using the Medical Research Council Dyspnoea Scale (MRC) questionnaire. Level of physical activity was measured using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Results. In the majority of cases, dyspnoea occurred only during heavy physical exertion and increased with age and more cases of COVID-19. A trend towards increasing dyspnoea with decreasing MET scores for moderate physical activity was observed. Respondents’ country of residence was not correlated with dyspnoea level. Conclusions. The introduction of regular physical activity may have an impact on reducing dyspnoea. Dyspnoea is a factor that influences the reduction of physical activity and leads to a change to a sedentary lifestyle.

Blended learning versus online education: impact to elementary students’ engagement in physical activity and Body Mass Index

Abstract
Examining the impacts of blended and online learning settings on children’s fitness and body mass index in a sample of public elementary school pupils in the Philippines is the main objective of this study. A 16-week pre-test and post-test control group in a quasi-experimental approach. The experimental group received blended education, whereas the control group exclusively took classes online. The experimental and control groups consisted of 2 classes from an elementary school in Angeles and Mabalacat City. Anthropometrical characteristics were compared between groups using ANOVA. Pre-test and post-treatment body mass index percentiles and PA levels were compared using a paired t-test. First, there were no significant variance in the individuals’ anthropometrical characteristics between the two groups before intervention. Additionally, the blended learning group outperformed the online learning group on the post-test in terms of physical activity. After intervention, the mean BMI of the blended learning group decreased, but online students showed no improvement. Last but not least, when compared to the online learning group, the BMI percentile of the students in the blended learning group is within the usual range. The benefit of blended learning on the pupils’ physical composition was highlighted. Pupils’ levels of physical activity and body composition have improved as an outcome of the adjustment from traditional to online and blended learning settings. For the benefit of the students, it is advisable to make the most of a blended learning strategy and, if at all possible, return to the full face-to-face method.
