Abstract
This research problem arises because increasing VO2max is crucial in improving the performance of kumite karate athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fartlek training and circuit training on increasing VO2max of Inkanas Resmata Madiun Kota kumite athletes. This research was conducted using experimental methods. The study’s population comprised 20 kumite karate athletes from the Inkanas Resmata dojo of the Madiun Kota police department. The sampling technique employed is the matched-pair method. The study sample included 17 kumite karate athletes from the Inkanas Resmata dojo at the Madiun Kota police department, each receiving the treatment 16 times. The research instrument used is the Multi-Step Fitness Test (MFT). The data analysis technique used in this study is a t-test to determine the comparison of fartlek training and circuit training exercises in increasing VO2max. Results of the study: the first hypothesis for the fartlek group is known that the t-test value is calculated at −12,520 with a significance value of 0.000. For the circuit training group, the hypothesis is confirmed with a calculated t-test value of −9.168 and a significance value of 0.000. From the test results using the independent sample T test, it is known that the t value is calculated with a significance value of 0.000 > 0.05. The strong conclusion of this study is that both fartlek training and circuit training significantly increase the VO2max of kumite karate athletes Dojo Inkanas Resmata Polres Madiun Kota, providing clear evidence of the effectiveness of both exercise methods in improving the physical condition of athletes.

Effect of radiofrequency on postmenopausal adipose tissue: A randomized control trial

Abstract
Aim. To determine the effect of radiofrequency on anthropometric measurements and lipid profile in postmenopausal women.
Material and methods. Sixty postmenopausal women diagnosed as having abdominal adiposity and abnormal lipid profiles were incorporated into this study. Participants were assigned at random into two equal groups. Group A adhered to a Mediterranean diet and engaged in aerobic exercise for 12 weeks (n = 30), whereas group B followed a Mediterranean diet and participated in both aerobic exercise and radiofrequency treatments for the same 12-week period (n = 30). Both groups had their anthropometric measurements, encompassing weight, body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference, along with lipid profile components involving total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), and triglycerides (TG), assessed before and after the 12-week program duration.
Results. Significant improvements (p < 0.05) were noted in all outcome measures within both groups. Upon post-treatment comparison, both groups exhibited statistically significant reductions in all anthropometric measurements, LDL and TG (p < 0.05), while there was a statistically significant increase in HDL (p < 0.05) favoring group B. Nevertheless, there were no significant differences between groups for TC and VLDL (p > 0.05) after treatment.
Conclusion. Radiofrequency has positive effect on anthropometric measurements and lipid profile in postmenopausal women.

Abstract
Boxing athletes must control their emotions and themselves, and regulate their aggressiveness to prevent harming themselves during matches . The purpose of this study was to show whether emotional maturity and self control affect the aggressiveness of boxing athletes. This type of research is correlational. The sample used is boxing athletes from the Special Region of Yogyakarta (n = 65, age 14-22 years) and the subjects have participated in boxing competitions. Sampling was done by nonprobability consecutive sampling. The emotional maturity scale is based on Singh and Bhargava, self control refers to Averill, aggression refers to Buss and Perry (1992). Data analysis was aided by ANOVA (F-test) and t-test. Results. Boxing athletes who will conduct games should receive support to conduct matches in a sporting manner to help athletes regulate their emotions and avoid aggression. For future researchers, it is hoped that they will be able to discuss more about the psychological aspects of boxing athletes, because this research is only limited to the influence of emotional maturity and self control on aggressiveness in boxing athletes.

Abstract
Intellectual disability affects 1 to 3% of the population, with a_higher percentage among residents of developing countries. Due to the possible occurrence of movement limitations in individuals with intellectual disabilities, physiotherapy can be an invaluable element of patient support for better functioning. However, understanding the key issues in working with patients from this group is necessary. This article is dedicated to introducing the topic of intellectual disability and the issues that physiotherapists should pay attention to when providing health services.

Abstract
Children with cerebral palsy tend to be less physically fit compared to typically developing peers. This is mainly due to the lack of physical activity and exercise during their childhood. If adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy don’t get enough exercise, it could result in reduced mobility and physical fitness. It is very important to start treatment for cerebral palsy when the child is young. The goal of this research was to investigate how children with spastic cerebral palsy might benefit from enhancing their hand muscle functioning by squeezing a sponge tennis ball during hand-strengthening exercises. The study implemented a true experimental design with a pre-and post-test control group. This methodology allowed for a rigorous and systematic investigation, ensuring reliable and valid results. Twelve boys between the ages of 15 and 17 who were all diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy participated in sponge tennis ball gripping exercises as part of a program of intervention. A 30-minute workout of sponge tennis ball squeezing involves 4-6 sets of 15-20 repetitions with passive rests of 30 seconds. The prescribed regimen involves conducting the exercise four times per week for six weeks. Before and after the intervention, the Hand Grip Dynamometer was used to assess the hand muscle strength of children with spastic-type cerebral palsy. Data analysis techniques were applied using the independent samples t-test with a significant level of 5%. The results showed the average muscle strength of the right hand after the intervention between control vs. experiment (4.36 ± 1.35 kg vs. 34.16 ± 3.34 kg (p = 0.000)), the average muscle strength of the left hand after the intervention between control vs. experiment (2.31 ± 0.49 kg vs. 30.18 ± 2.08 kg (p = 0.000)). The findings of the research suggest that engaging in frequent tennis ball gripping exercises, conducted on a frequency of four sessions per week over a duration of six weeks, may yield notable improvements in the hand muscle functionality of children diagnosed with spastic-type cerebral palsy. The findings suggest that including these activities in treatment, procedures may provide significant value for persons with this particular illness.

Abstract
Background and Study Aim. Badminton is a sport characterized by intense competition and rapid pace, necessitating exceptional hand-eye coordination, mental sharpness, and visual acuity from its players. Rapid interchanges and complex shot combinations highlight the imperative for players to maintain heightened concentration and exhibit quick decision-making capabilities. Given these demands, visual training has emerged as an indispensable tool for enhancing athletic ability in badminton.
Aim. The study aims to examine the underlying theories of perception-action coupling, investigates various vision training methods for badminton, and evaluates research on their effects on players’ perception-action coupling.
Material and Methods. This study employs a narrative review methodology. We conducted an extensive literature search across diverse sources, using keywords like “badminton,” “perception-action coupling,” and “vision training.” The selection of studies was based on relevance to our research objectives, encompassing various study designs, including primary research, reviews, and expert opinions, facilitating a flexible and coherent synthesis of findings, enabling the exploration of context, significance, and implications within the area of the review while highlighting key insights and emerging trends.
Results. Several factors can influence a player’s perception-action coupling abilities in badminton, such as their level of expertise and training background. Expert players exhibit better perception-action coupling abilities than their less skilled counterparts. Additionally, several studies have investigated the impact of vision training techniques on perception-action coupling in badminton, revealing improvements in various visual skills crucial for performance.
Conclusions. The study explored the pivotal role of perception-action coupling in the context of vision training tailored for badminton players.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the potential of exercise massage on ischemic muscle pain and ROM after exercise. This experimental research uses a pre and post control group design. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling technique. Next, the subjects were divided into 2 groups, namely group (K1) which was not given special treatment and group (K2) which was given sports massage. A total of 18 healthy men participated in this study. Our first procedure is preparing research administration and permission to borrow facilities and infrastructure. Next, we screened respondents who were used as research subjects based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and filled out Informed Consent. On the day of the research, all subjects collected data on the characteristics of the research subjects, then warmed up, and then the subjects did exercises in the form of treadmill training with an intensity of 50-60% of their maximum ability. The intensity of the exercise was monitored using a polarizer. Exercise is carried out for 15 minutes. 30 minutes after exercise, all subjects had pre-test data taken to measure ischemic muscle pain and Range of Motion. After collecting pre-test data, subjects carried out interventions based on their respective groups. After being given the intervention, the subject carried out post-test data collection. The intensity of ischemic muscle pain was measured using VAS and ROM was measured at the knee joint using a goniometer. The results of our study reported that the group given exercise massage was able to reduce the intensity of systemic muscle pain and increase ROM significantly (P < 0.05). Providing sports massage after exercise can reduce ischemic muscle pain and increase ROM. Considering that pain intensity and ROM are necessary to support body function, our research findings can be used as an alternative to support physical performance.

Abstract
Background. Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a complicated 3D structural spine condition occurring in children aged 10 to skeletal maturity. The study aimed to examine the impact of muscle energy technique and/or myofascial release on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis for large sample. Also, it aimed to compare the muscle energy techniques versus myofascial release on idiopathic scoliosis.
Methods. A total of 50 girls with idiopathic non-bony structural scoliosis of the thoracic spine were included in this trial. They were randomly divided into two equal-sized (n = 25 for each group). For three months, group A (Muscle energy technique Group), which received Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis exercises in addition to Muscle energy technique; and group B (Myofascial release Group), which received the same Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis exercises conducted to group A in addition to myofascial release. The primary outcome was a standing radiological evaluation of coronal Cobb´s angle.
Results. According to this study’s findings, a highly significant difference was discovered in the mean values of Cobb´s angle between pre and post-treatment in muscle energy technique group. When the mean values of Cobb´s angle was compared before and after treatment for myofascial release group, it was reveals a significant change.
Conclusions. After treatment for three months, both groups improved significantly, with muscle energy technique group outperforming the myofascial release group by a large margin. So, muscle energy technique was more effective than myofascial release in reducing the abnormal thoracic curvature in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
Trial registration. The study was registered with Clinicaltrials.gov under the identifier NCT05120089.

Abstract
Purpose. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between systolic and diastolic blood pressure and cardiovascular capacity in the elderly. Method. This research is an analytical observational study conducted with a cross-sectional approach. The sample involved 43 elderlies with characteristics: age 66.79 ± 4.24; weight 62.4 ± 11.66; and height 157.83 ± 6.77. The blood pressure measurements were carried out using a tensimeter, while the cardiovascular measurements were carried out using a 2-minute step test based on the senior fitness test procedure. Pearson’s correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between cardiorespiratory ability and blood pressure. Results. The Pearson’s data analysis test results showed a negative correlation between cardiorespiratory capacity and systolic blood pressure (r(41) = −0.516, p = < 0.001) and diastolic (r(41) = −0.442, p = 0.003). Conclusion. The higher the cardiorespiratory level in the elderly, the lower the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Thus, good cardio respiration is known to provide positive benefits in better blood pressure regulation in the elderly. Exercise may be needed so that the elderly obtains good cardiorespiratory fitness and, at the same time, normal blood pressure.

The impact of suboccipital muscle inhibition on postural stability in young individuals

Abstract
Introduction. Postural stability is the result of cooperation between the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The stability of standing posture ensures the spatial arrangement of the body, where the center of gravity falls within the center of the support base. FHT (Forward Head Posture) increases the extension in the occipito-cervical joint and upper cervical spine, deepening the flexion of the lower cervical segment, causing improper contraction of the suboccipital muscles. Disorders in the tone of the suboccipital muscles may affect the balance.
Objective. The research hypothesis was made that a single 4-minute suboccipital muscle inhibition procedure influences the change in postural stability values with open and closed eyes in individuals with cranio vertebral angle (CVA) within the normal range and below.
Materials and Methods. Healthy participants (10 women and 8 men) with an age of 22.7 ± 0.58. The participants took part in the study. They were classified into research groups based on the CVA angle assessment. Postural stability analysis used the Koordynacja stabilometric platform. Measurements were taken with open and closed eyes, before and immediately after suboccipital muscle inhibition.
Results. The suboccipital muscle inhibition was observed to affect anterior-posterior (A-P) displacements in group A (CVA < 50) p-value = 0.0168, with no significant impact in group
B (CVA ≥ 50), p-value = 0.3695.
Conclusion. A single 4-minute suboccipital muscle inhibition procedure does not significantly influence postural stability parameters in the examined groups, except for A-P displacements with open  eyes in the CVA < 50 group.
