Abstract

Curvature of the spine when diagnosed and treated in youth (surgically or conservatively) is subject to progression in adults and frequently causes pain symptoms. The present article evaluates the current clinical status of adult scoliosis patients who were treated surgically or conservatively in childhood. The parameters evaluated include the frequency of occurrence of intensified spinal pain and its impact on the professional and social situation of the persons tested.

Abstract
Objective. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of classic massage therapy in combination with other rehabilitation treatments and its influence on the reduction of pain intensity in people diagnosed with back pain syndrome.
Material and method. The study was conducted using a questionnaire form at the HIPOKRATES clinic in Krakow. The study involved 150 people who underwent massage therapy, and physiotherapy and kinesitherapy treatment recommended by a physician. To assess the effectiveness of massage therapy in combination with other treatments, the degree of pain intensity was determined in all patients using the VAS visual analog scale before and after completed rehabilitation. The questions also concerned the duration of back pain, knowledge of the principles of ergonomics, use of other treatments besides massage therapy, the time after which the pain was reduced and the duration of positive effects, the effects of massage therapy combined with other rehabilitation treatments, and well-being.
Results. On average, in people using rehabilitation, pain symptoms began to decrease after the fourth treatment. After a series of treatments, most of the respondents experienced improved functioning in everyday life, and pain and increased muscle tone decreased. The patients’ well-being improved considerably, and the dose of painkillers taken was reduced.
Conclusions. Massage therapy in combination with kinesiotherapy and physiotherapy is an effective form of therapy for the treatment of back pain syndrome.

Nowe urządzenie do Dynamicznej Korekcji Kręgosłupa (DKK): wskazania i przeciwwskazania

Streszczenie
Urządzenie do Dynamicznego Korekcji Kręgosłupa (patent PL 229766 oraz patent US 9949,884 B2) zostało zaprojektowane i skonstruowane do fizjoterapii pacjentów. Urządzenie opracowano i wykonano przez firmę Bio.morph Sp. z o.o. w ramach projektu Unii Europejskiej – Program Operacyjny Innowacyjna Gospodarka w latach 2007-2013.
Dynamiczny Korektor Kręgosłupa (DKK) z proponowaną nowatorską metodą fizjoterapii mają umożliwiać prawie samodzielną rehabilitację, która prowadzona pod kontrolą fizjoterapeuty na bieżąco skontroluje ostekinematykę kręgosłupa pacjenta w trakcie przywracania fizjologicznej gry stawowej w zablokowanych stawach kręgosłupa. Dzięki zastosowanemu nowemu systemowi diagnostyki, istnieje również możliwość́: a) wizualizacji stanu kręgosłupa; b) rejestracji parametrów pracy pacjenta, a także c) rejestracji wyników oraz obiektywnej oceny aktualnego stanu i postępów fizjoterapii pacjenta.
Nowe rozwiązanie diagnostyczne, wraz z innowacyjną metodą terapeutyczną, jaką jest metoda Dynamicznej Korekcji i Mobilizacji Kręgosłupa oraz Posturalnej Reedukacji Nerwowo-Mięśniowej, naszym zdaniem pozwala na skuteczną fizjoterapię schorzeń́ kręgosłupa o różnej etiologii, przy równoczesnej minimalizacji potencjalnych zagrożeń́ dla pacjenta, wynikających ze stosowanych obecnie określonych technologii leczniczych oraz materiałów i leków o możliwej szkodliwości i niskiej specyficzności (np. leki przeciwbólowe).
