Abstract

Body posture is a movement habit developed on certain neurohysiological, articuloskeletal, ligamentomuscular, environmental and volitional-emotional basis. Neurophysiological (reflexive) sphere in diagnistics and therapy of body posture defects is usually neglected, which seems to be wrong. Neurokinesiology is a science about the connections of body movements and functions of the brain. It can bring valuable information to postural re-education. The biggest part in a development, creation and popularizing this study had Paul Dennison. Among young as well as older children and even among adults we can observe the presence of homolateral reflexes such as asymmetrical tonic neck reflex, symmetrical tonic neck reflex and orientative reflex. It is indicated in body posture defects therapy to analyze the reflexes and to implement corrective exercises which integrate them. Simple exercises which stimulate natural development mechanisms and integrate brain and body functions as well as psychophysical processes are used The paper presents theoretical bases, as well as practical uses of neurokinesiology in postural reeducation.

Abstract
Background. The aim of the study was to analyse the relationship between lateral spinal curvatures and MLPX and MLPY among children aged 12 to 15 years. Material and methods. The sample consisted of 503 children chosen from among attending Promary School No. 13 and Junior Secondary School No. 4 in Starachowice. The spatial photogrammetric method, based on Moire’s topography, was used. Balance was examined on a stabilographic platform. The MLPX and the MLPY were used to describe balance findings. Results. Analysis of variance showed a significant effect of the testing options. In the test with eyest closed, MLPX increased in all three defect groups in the frontal plane. Closing eyes increases MLPX, which reflects an increased pressure of the left leg. Increased instability in this plane is usually effectively compensated for by the hip joint strategy. Conclusions. Although the analysis of variance did not show any essential effects, the value of MLPY with eyes closed was hightest in curvatures >10o. This group also showed the biggest difference in Romberg’s test.
